Although I enjoy the intellectual stimulation of the law, something was missing. I was trying to fit in a box. I wanted the woo and creativity too in my work. The woo is the soul work, the deep connection with others. I also wanted the flexibility to be successful in my career as well present in my home life.

I silenced my mind + I did a HeartCheck. I realized that what works for me + what makes me happy is...

embracing all of me

I decided to take a break from my legal career and stay home with my two little ones. I learned that no matter what label you put in front of mom (stay at home or working), neither one is better nor harder than the other. Each phase is beautiful as well as demanding. We simply have to enjoy the season we are in. When I returned to work full-time, I had to adjust to the new challenge of juggling kids, home, + work.

living that mom life

That plan became a reality. I graduated from Tulane Law School in 2001 and started my first job out of law school as a Wall Street corporate attorney for a big New York law firm. I've worked for two top AM 100 law firms and for Fortune 500 companies advising on multi-billion dollar complex business deals.

LEGAL mind

I've been a pen + paper love since the 5th grade after I begged my mom to buy my first planner. It was an ‘80s kid's dream with neon colors and puffy stickers. I used that little planner to write down my plans to become a big shot NYC lawyer like Claire Huxtable...loved her.

creative SOUL

I checked off all the boxes: top law school, prestigious job as a Wall St. lawyer, nice house, and the family of four. Yet, something was missing in my life and couldn't quite put my finger on it. After experiencing some personal setbacks, I had to do some soul searching to put the pieces back together. That's when I discovered some truths about myself. Here's what I discovered. Things had always come easy to me and the moment things got really hard, I struggled. I realized I was going through the motions. At the end of each day, I was relieved that the day was over and that's not living. I had to change my way of thinking, planning and doing. Just because we know better it doesn't mean we always do better. And that my friend is why I am here. Those tough times brought me to my purpose, to embrace all of me, to you!

I THOUGHT I WAS DOING
EVERYTHING "RIGHT" UNTIL THINGS BEGAN TO FALL APART
